Getty Museum Aug. 5, 2012

Eleven members and friends met at the Federal Building parking lot at 10:00 am on Sunday, to car pool to the parking structure.  After taking the shuttle up to the museum we gathered at the Plasa Level Restaurant to coordinate activities.  Leader Dorothy Juarez had planned a route of discovery from which we could choose our goals for exploring the exhibits.  New member Yvette Jaeger and her friend Roxanne took a guided tour and we didnt' see them again until 3 pm. The Museum was crowded with many vacationing world travelers speeking many foreign languages.  Not to be missed was the major loan exhibition of driwings by gustav Klimt (1862-1918), "The magic of Line" Another temporary display was "The Vexed Man", one of a group of astonishing "character heads" produced by sculptor Franz Xaver Messerschmidt (1736-1783). In between our explorations, most gathered for a group lunch at The Garden Terrace.  Thanks to Dorothy for suggesting and leading this very enjoyable outing.
